Dr. Christopher Sortman graduated from University of Michigan Dental School in 2004. Prior to dental school, he attended Hope College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in biology in 1999. Following dental school, Dr. Sortman became Lieutenant Sortman and served as a Navy dentist with the Marines in Okinawa. While there, he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program. The AEGD gave him shoulder-to-shoulder experience with specialists in every field of dentistry. This experience was a springboard to becoming a leader in providing comprehensive dentistry. Since then, he has pursued additional continuing education and is trained in progressive orthodontics, sedation dentistry (via the University of Georgia), and Nobel Biocare dental implants.
On a personal note, Dr. Sortman is married to his college sweetheart, Holly. They have four children: Spencer, Saige, Piper, and Orly. He enjoys spending time with family, pursuing varying interests, and most of all helping others to become the best they can be!
Dr. Byard was born in Riverside, CA. Having a military father, he traveled extensively as a child. He attended Hope college, graduating in 2001 and the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, graduating in 2005. Dr. Byard was then commissioned in the the U.S. Navy where he completed a General Practice Residency at U.S. Naval Hospital in Camp Pendleton, CA, followed by a deployment on aircraft carrier USS Nimitz CVN-68 stationed in San Diego, CA. While in the San Diego area he practiced for 6 years in private and corporate dental offices. In 2012, Dr. Byard moved to Spain in support of his wife's 20 plus years of military service. While overseas he completed his Masters of Healthcare Administration. He has practiced in Western Michigan since 2014 working with the state of Michigan as well as for a nonprofit organization.
Dr. Byard lives in West Olive, MI with his wife Jessica and their three children Gabriella, Alexandria, and Brennan, who attend Grand Haven Schools. In his spare time he enjoys traveling and sightseeing with his family.
Dr. Logan Clements attended The University of Detroit Mercy for his undergrad as a Biological Sciences major and went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery from The University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. He is focused on providing his patients with the best possible care for their oral health and continued education in dentistry. r. Clements is a member of the MDA and American Dental Association.
Originally from Swartz Creek, MI, Dr. Clements is excited to move to the west side to see what the lakeshore has to offer and looks forward to furthering his career in Dentistry. He is an outdoorsman and enjoys spending his time hunting, fishing and camping. You can also catch Dr. Clements in his Jeep Wrangler on the Silver Lake Sand Dunes in the summer, or playing ice hockey in the winter!
